"Exciting Winter Park Events This December: Join the Fun!"
Winter Park’s vibrant community is buzzing with a series of engaging events this December, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to participate in diverse activities. From festive celebrations to educational workshops, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this month.
On December 3, the Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club invites walkers to explore Winter Park’s charm with two distance options: a 10K (6.2 miles) or a 5K (3.1 miles). Participants can start their journey between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. at the Winter Park Amtrak Station Parking Lot located at 148 W. Morse Blvd. The cost is $4 per person, while children aged 12 or younger who do not require credit can walk for free.
Coin enthusiasts will find much to love at the Central Florida Coin Club show on December 1. With over 30 dealers showcasing high-quality coins, this event is an excellent opportunity for both novice and seasoned collectors. A grading company will also be present to accept submissions. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Venue on the Lake in Maitland. Admission is free, and children under 12 receive a complimentary coin.
The University Club of Winter Park further enriches the community with educational talks this December. On December 2, join curator Susan Rosoff for a discussion about Americans in Paris during the 19th century. This talk begins at 10 a.m. and is free to attend. Participants must email their names to RSVP.
Winter Park’s tradition of festive gatherings continues with the Christmas in the Park event on December 15, where visitors can enjoy stunning Tiffany windows and a performance by the Bach Festival Society Choir. The event kicks off at 6:15 p.m. in Central Park.
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the Guided Garden Tour at the UF/IFAS Extension Orange County Exploration Gardens on December 10 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. Participants will discover Florida-friendly landscaping principles while enjoying the serene beauty of the gardens. A fee of $10 applies, and prior registration is necessary.
This month also features a range of entertaining performances. On December 8, bring a blanket to watch the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in Central Park at 6 p.m.. The concert is free, making it a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season.
Additionally, continuous support groups such as GriefShare and others address community needs. Held on Wednesdays, the group offers a space for those who have lost loved ones to share and find support.
