White Castle is set to break ground on a new restaurant location in Clermont, Florida, on April 9, 2025. This new establishment will serve as a 3,220-square-foot “sister property” to the existing Orlando White Castle, which opened in 2021. The addition of this location signifies White Castle’s continued expansion in Central Florida, with plans for further developments in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Plaza Collina development along W. Colonial Drive. Once completed, the Clermont White Castle will offer modern architecture, both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as two drive-through lanes to accommodate customers efficiently. It is anticipated that the construction of the new restaurant will create approximately 75 new jobs for the local community.
White Castle, which opened its first Florida location in Orlando, has confirmed additional sites, including a planned restaurant in Kissimmee. As of May 2025, the Orlando location at 11595 Daryl Carter Parkway is the only operational White Castle in the state. The company’s plans indicate a focus on expanding deeper into the Central Florida region, with potential new locations in the I-Drive district among others.
Founded in 1921, White Castle is recognized for its signature “Sliders,” which are small square burgers that were originally sold for just five cents each. This pricing contributed to the brand’s historical significance within the fast-food industry. Over the years, White Castle has expanded to encompass more than 300 locations across the United States, establishing a notable presence in the fast-food market.
The decision to open a new restaurant in Clermont is part of White Castle’s strategic initiative to reach a wider customer base in Florida, enhancing accessibility to their iconic menu items for both residents and visitors.
