Orlando International Airport (OIA) is enhancing its international flight offerings by introducing new routes, including direct flights to Madrid and Paris. OIA aims to establish connections to South Korea, adding to its extensive list of over 60 international destinations. The airport, Florida’s busiest, is also committed to providing modern amenities to improve travel experiences. Orlando has some fantastic news for travelers! Orlando International Airport (OIA) is gearing up to add even more international destinations in the coming months, making it a hot spot for those eager to explore the world. This year alone, the airport has already welcomed a number of new domestic and international flights, showcasing its commitment to enhancing travel options for passengers.
Breeze Airways, which operates out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, has recently expanded its route map to include destinations like Gulfport, Mississippi, Ogdensburg, New York, and Wilmington, North Carolina. Not to be outdone, Discover Airlines kicked things off by launching a new flight to Munich, Germany back in March, giving travelers more choices than ever.
Looking ahead, the airport will soon be rolling out direct flights to Madrid, Spain starting October 26, operating four times a week. Plus, after more than a decade break, OIA is resuming its direct flights to Paris, France on May 21, which will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Paris, here we come!
In an ambitious development for the airport, OIA aims to establish its first nonstop route to East Asia with planned flights to South Korea. This would mark a significant milestone. Right now, OIA proudly offers nonstop service to over 60 international destinations across Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Central and South America. Currently, travelers can hop on direct flights to cities like Dublin, Iceland, Edinburgh, London, and Manchester, while the only nonstop destination in Asia currently served is Dubai.
Earlier this year, partnerships formed with Incheon International Airport in South Korea to pave the way for these exciting new flights. The outgoing CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority shared insights on how the growth in Central Florida is driving the demand for more international routes.
Did you know that Orlando International Airport is Florida’s busiest airport and ranked as the seventh busiest in the United States? It serves nearly 58 million passengers each year. To manage this growing traffic and enhance international flight services, OIA opened its state-of-the-art Terminal C, costing around $2.8 billion. This facility was designed specifically to improve the overall travel experience for passengers flying internationally.
Additionally, for those arriving in the area, the newly opened Brightline train station at the airport offers seamless travel options for visitors heading to Miami and eventually extending services to Tampa.
