Orlando Launches Connect DTO Program to Foster Community Engagement and Leadership Skills

Orlando Prepares for Connect DTO: Building Community and Leadership

Orlando is gearing up for another exciting season of its Connect DTO program, a collaboration between the Downtown Orlando Partnership and the Orlando Credit Union. This initiative aims to engage residents and transform them into champions of downtown living.

What is Connect DTO?

Connect DTO is a series of interactive workshops featuring behind-the-scenes tours and discussions with city leaders. It is designed to educate participants about various aspects of life in downtown Orlando, helping them develop a deeper connection to their community.

When and Where will the Sessions be Held?

The next cohort of Connect DTO is set to begin in January 2025 and will run through June 2025. Sessions will occur once a month on the fourth Tuesday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Participants will gather at various locations within downtown Orlando to take full advantage of the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

Who Can Participate?

This program is open to anyone interested in becoming more involved in their community, but it comes with a cost. The registration fee is $1,500 for those not affiliated with the Downtown Orlando Partnership. However, for those fortunate enough to have their employers covering the cost, this opportunity becomes even more accessible.

Why is Connect DTO Important?

The mission of Connect DTO centers around community engagement. The program covers a variety of relevant topics that include arts and culture, downtown real estate and development, hospitality and lodging, quality of life, sports and entertainment, and technology and innovation. Through these sessions, participants not only gain knowledge but also develop a greater appreciation for what makes downtown Orlando unique.

A Pathway to Community Involvement

One of the goals of Connect DTO is to transform passive residents into active leaders. By providing exclusive access to city leaders and fellow residents, participants have the chance to foster connections and share ideas that can positively impact the community. This program aims to build a stronger, more engaged citizen base that cares about the direction of downtown Orlando.

Conclusion

As the launch date approaches, there is plenty of excitement surrounding the Connect DTO program. For those in Orlando looking to deepen their understanding of city dynamics and become more involved in their neighborhood, this series of workshops offers a unique opportunity. Mark your calendars for the fourth Tuesday of every month starting in January 2025, and be ready to engage with the vibrant community of downtown Orlando.
