"Orlando Art Exhibition: Unique Show with Local Talent"
Orlando is set to host an engaging art exhibition titled People this Friday, December 6, at 6 p.m. The event will take place at Stardust Video and Coffee, a popular venue in the Audubon Park neighborhood, located at 1842 Winter Park Road. The exhibition will showcase the creative works of two local artists, Hayley Boulicault and Justin Luper.
Both Boulicault and Luper have distinct artistic styles that reflect their unique perspectives. Justin Luper is known for his versatility; he not only paints but also creates furniture and sculptures, and even composes music. His works often carry a sense of depth and complexity.
Hayley Boulicault, on the other hand, has recently begun to share her artistic voice after years of drawing. Her paintings are characterized by a blend of playfulness and darkness, with many pieces evoking images reminiscent of melting faces, echoing the styles of both Francis Bacon and Wes Anderson.
The People exhibition promises to be a thought-provoking gathering. Luper will present a series of wooden busts that blend the anatomical precision seen in Gray’s Anatomy with a whimsical, playschool aesthetic. His creations are rich in narrative, inviting viewers to explore their stories.
Boulicault, inspired by her admiration for the artist Helen Frankenthaler, will showcase her inventive approach to portraiture. “In allowing an organic process to create these portraits, I feel I can play around and imagine how these people might think or feel. How they might like to be perceived,” she stated in a recent comment about her work. Her pieces, echoing influences from vintage fashion, feature absurd shapes and fabrics, adding to their allure.
The opening night at Stardust Video and Coffee is set to be a vibrant celebration of local talent and artistic expression. Known as an underrated gallery venue, Stardust is committed to fostering creativity and artistic risk-taking, prioritizing the experience over commercial viability. This exhibition is a great opportunity for art enthusiasts and the local community to engage with the works of emerging artists and to gain insight into their creative processes.
The People exhibition opens on December 6, at 6 p.m. Attendees will have an opportunity not only to view compelling art but also to connect with the artists and other community members. By showcasing diverse perspectives, both Boulicault and Luper contribute to the rich cultural tapestry of Orlando’s art scene. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this artistic experience in Audubon Park.
