The driver of the Acura, a 35-year-old man from Orlando, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Tragically, a male passenger, aged 40 and also from Orlando, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
As a result of this crash, the northbound lanes of Goldenrod Road have been closed while authorities conduct an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In another incident related to traffic safety, around 7 a.m. on the same Friday, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Edgewater Drive at All American Boulevard in Orlando.
