Jacksonville Welcomes The Dough Show with New Restaurant Opening
Jacksonville is set to welcome a new dining option as The Dough Show, a Florida-based restaurant group, announces its latest location in Bartram Park. The restaurant is scheduled to open its doors on October 22, following the issuance of a city permit on September 3.
The new restaurant will occupy a 2,612-square-foot space, located at 12681 Bartram Park Blvd, nestled between Panda Express and Zaxby’s. The renovation of the former Moe’s Southwest Grill will involve a total investment of $80,000, enhancing the dining experience with features such as a pizza brick oven, modifications to the service counter, and an added hood for the prep kitchen.
Menu and Dining Experience
The Dough Show aims to provide a unique offering in the local dining scene with a focus on Middle Eastern cuisine. Menu highlights include Egyptian feteer, Levant shawarma, and Turkish mixed grill, all prepared with 100% halal ingredients. Diners can expect a diverse range of options, from savory and sweet feteer, bowls and platters, wraps, appetizers, salads, to desserts and refreshers. Prices will range from $7.99 for wraps to $24.99 for large savory feteer.
The restaurant plans to operate daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with potential breakfast hours starting at 8 a.m. Alongside lunch and dinner fare, the establishment will feature seating for 130 customers, including 50 on a covered patio, and will offer a limited drive-thru menu. Notably, The Dough Show will not serve alcoholic beverages, reinforcing its commitment to a healthy dining experience.
Expansion Plans
Founded in Orlando two years ago, The Dough Show has already expanded to Tampa and is determined to grow further. Partners Omar Shawky, Ihab Mahmoud, and Mohamed Momen are focusing on capturing a significant share of the Middle Eastern quick-service restaurant market, with plans for additional locations in Florida and beyond. After the Jacksonville opening, two more restaurants are set to open on December 23 in Orlando and January 20 in Kissimmee. By December 2026, the group intends to establish five to six more locations across South Florida, with aspirations to expand into states such as California, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Virginia by 2027.
Operational Model and Community Engagement
The operational model of The Dough Show emphasizes owner-operators rather than traditional franchisees. Profits from each location are shared between the investor, the owner-operator, and The Dough Show. Each restaurant is structured as a separate LLC, owned equally by the restaurant group and the investor. In Jacksonville, the investor is described as an American-Jordanian based in the Midwest, while the owner-operator is relocating from Arkansas to manage the new establishment.
Shawky highlighted the group’s dedication to serving the local community, ensuring high food quality, and celebrating cultural pride through their offerings.
Background Context
The Dough Show opened its first restaurant in Orlando in 2021 and has since grown in popularity. Each location aims to provide a fresh and exciting take on Middle Eastern food, catering to a diverse audience looking for quality meals in a vibrant atmosphere. With its strategic position in a rapidly developing area of Jacksonville, The Dough Show looks to make a significant impact in the local dining landscape.
