News Summary

Jack in the Box is set to begin construction on its first Orlando location at 5324 S. John Young Parkway. The popular fast-food chain’s entry into Central Florida has been anticipated since 2022. The restaurant will replace a closed Burger King, with renovations managed by PAVCO Contracting Group. Jack in the Box aims to open at least 20 franchises across Central Florida, with plans for more locations in areas like Lake Nona and Palm Bay. The first restaurant is expected to open by the end of 2025, contributing to the local dining scene.

Orlando Welcomes Jack in the Box

Jack in the Box, the popular West Coast fast food chain known for its expansive menu featuring burgers, tacos, and milkshakes, is officially set to begin construction on its first location in Orlando. This marks the company’s long-awaited entry into the Central Florida market, a venture that has been teased since 2022.

The new restaurant will be located at 5324 S. John Young Parkway, situated at the corner of John Young Parkway and Conroy Road. A construction permit for this site was applied for in April 2025, and a Notice of Commencement for “Restaurant Renovation” was filed on July 24, 2025.

Construction and Renovation Plans

The site of the new Jack in the Box was previously occupied by a Burger King that has long been closed. The renovations at the new location will be handled by PAVCO Contracting Group based in Melbourne, which has experience in working on several Del Taco locations within Central Florida. Notably, Jonathan Peralta, who was named a franchisee for Jack in the Box in 2023, is contracted for the renovation work.

In total, Jack in the Box plans to open at least 20 franchises in Central Florida, with several franchisees already named: Jonathan Peralta, Ed Zausch, and Dan Soma. In addition to the Orlando location, another restaurant is being built in Lake Nona, and a site along West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Osceola County received approval in May 2025.

Priorities and Future Expansion

The first Jack in the Box location in Central Florida is anticipated to open by the end of 2025. The company has also outlined plans for additional franchises in Palm Bay, Lakeland, Deltona, and Palm Coast, according to its franchise website. The expansion effort includes commitments for five units in Tallahassee and a ten-unit agreement specifically for Orlando.

Franchise Requirements and Investment

Individuals interested in becoming franchisees for Jack in the Box must meet specific financial requirements, including an initial investment ranging from $1,697,000 to $2,694,600. Additionally, franchisees are required to have a minimum liquidity of $500,000 and a minimum net worth of $1 million.

Company Background

Jack in the Box operates approximately 2,200 restaurants across 22 states, along with more than 600 Del Taco locations spanning 16 states. The fast-food chain is recognized for its diverse menu that includes a wide variety of food options, such as burgers, tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, breakfast items, and late-night offerings. The company’s acquisition of Del Taco in 2022 further strengthens its presence in the fast-food industry and paves the way for its ambitious growth in the Central Florida region.

As construction gets underway, the excitement for Jack in the Box’s arrival in Orlando continues to build, promising a new dining option for local residents and visitors alike.
