Savoie explained, “We’ve had to adjust our layout so that all customers walk past our repair area, allowing us to keep better tabs on them. We’ve also ramped up our security with more cameras and additional staff on hand. It’s a shame we have to do it, but it’s necessary.”

Scottsdale Police’s Findings

According to investigators, Dougoud’s reasons for stealing these items were simple: profit. It appears he intended to sell or trade the stolen clubs for money or other valuable items. Sergeant Aaron Bolin of the local police revealed, “Mr. Dougoud was stealing these golf clubs to then go ahead and basically sell them or trade them for money or other things of value.” The fact that he was audacious enough to target upscale golf shops shows how serious and organized this theft scheme was.
