Central Florida Welcomes New Dining Options
Central Florida is experiencing a culinary boom with the recent openings of eight new restaurants and cafes, each promising a unique dining experience. These arrivals reflect the area’s diverse flavors ranging from classic American dishes to international delights.
New Additions
One of the exciting new spots is First Watch, a daytime dining establishment from Bradenton, which opened its doors in Clermont on November 18. Spanning 3,700 square feet in the Cagan Crossings plaza, the restaurant can comfortably seat over 180 guests. Notable features include a covered patio and both indoor and outdoor bars, where patrons can enjoy freshly made juices. First Watch is known for its classic breakfast and brunch offerings but stands out with a rotating seasonal menu that changes five times every year. The first seasonal menu at this location is set to debut in early 2025, and the restaurant plans to hire around 30 staff members.
On November 21, Ford’s Garage opened another location at the Orlando International Premium Outlets. This Tampa-based restaurant captures the essence of 1920s service stations, serving as a backdrop for its “Burgers of Fame” menu, which features burgers named after local leaders and organizations, including the Orange County Sheriff and a local high school principal. The venue seats approximately 280 guests and offers a selection of local beers on tap, enhancing the dining experience.
Greek Cuisine and Fast Food
Also on November 21, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill launched its fifth local outlet in Celebration, contributing traditional Greek flavors with items like gyros, souvlaki, and house-made dips. The restaurant has seating for 62 inside and an additional 16 on the patio. Signature dishes include their Great Greek Gyro and feta fries, along with various delicious desserts like baklava.
In the fast-food realm, Checkers and Rally’s is entering new territory with two drive-thru locations inside Walmart stores in Clermont and Ocoee. This expansion adds to its existing 800 restaurants, catering to a growing customer base seeking quick meal options.
Japanese Street Food and Pizzerias
On the culinary frontier of Winter Garden, Tsuri Japanese Street Food opened in October. This restaurant offers an authentic Japanese menu with freshly made sushi, ramen bowls, and other traditional dishes like bao buns and Gyoza. This independent shop enhances the variety available to local food enthusiasts.
Another newcomer, Grand Central Pizza Station, opened its doors in Ocoee last month, specializing in New York-inspired pizzas. This eatery invites guests to indulge in whole pies or pizza by the slice, complemented by sides like garlic knots and calzones. Their unique pizza features blend flavors from both New York and Detroit styles.
A New Coffee Spot on the Way
Additionally, Kissimmee is set to receive its first Dutch Bros coffee shop, located at 2880 N. Old Lake Wilson Road. This new drive-through establishment is part of a larger development that also includes a Chick-fil-A and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The coffee shop is anticipated to draw in customers due to its location near the busy Disney corridor.
As these new venues open, Central Florida’s dining scene continues to grow, providing residents and visitors alike with an array of dining options. The ongoing expansion not only celebrates culinary diversity but also contributes to the local economy by creating jobs and attracting tourists.
