Gerald, who was born on May 9, 1935, in Auburn, has left an indelible mark on the community as a longtime Cayuga County Legislator and a respected employee at General Electric.

A Life of Service

A son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Hartnett Sincebaugh, Gerald pursued an education that would equip him for a remarkable career. He graduated from Holy Family High School and later attended SUNY Empire State College, where he continued to expand his knowledge. His commitment to serving his country was evident when he honorably discharged from the United States Air Force, exemplifying the spirit of sacrifice and service.

Gerald devoted over 46 years of his life to General Electric/Lockheed Martin, where he played a crucial role in the advancement of numerous projects. His work ethic and passion for his field made him a respected figure among colleagues. His dedication to public service also shined brightly during his time as a Cayuga County Legislator from 1987 to 1994, where he served three terms and championed initiatives that improved the lives of residents in the area.

The Joys of Retirement

Retirement gave Gerald the opportunity to indulge in his passions. He spent many sunny days on the beautiful golf courses of Florida, while also enjoying the ride in his bright red convertible. His zest for life was evident to everyone around him, and he cherished every moment spent with family and friends.

A Loving Family

Gerald was the loving husband to his late wife, Mary Lynn McDonald Sincebaugh, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Together, they raised a family that has been left heartbroken but grateful for the wonderful memories they created together. He is survived by his son, Patrick Sincebaugh, and his daughter, Kathleen Pressler, both of whom have now made their homes in Florida.

Gerald was a proud grandfather to three granddaughters, Brooke Kathleen and Paige Elizabeth Sincebaugh, alongside Zoei Victoria Pressler, and he also had a grandson, Ryan Pressler. His legacy lives on through these cherished family members, as well as his brother, John Sincebaugh, of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews who hold his memory dear.

Final Goodbyes

As the community gathers to bid farewell, friends and relatives are invited to attend the Mass of Christian burial on April 12th at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 1501 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL, at 1 PM. Following the Mass, Gerald will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded to honor his service to the nation.
