What should have been a simple pickup turned into a life-altering experience when Lester shot Yarl twice, once in the head and again in the arm.
Despite the alarming nature of the shooting, Yarl showed remarkable resilience. He was hospitalized after the incident but was able to leave just three days later. By all accounts, the young man’s recovery has been inspiring, as he has now turned his focus to his studies as a college student.
Lester faced a much more severe initial charge; he was originally accused of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
