Tampa Bay Welcomes New Leaders at AARP Florida

Tampa Bay, Florida – AARP Florida has welcomed two new members to its Executive Council, enhancing its ongoing commitment to advocate for senior citizens across the state. The newly appointed members are Kip Corriveau and Frank Wells, who bring decades of experience in nonprofit and community service to their voluntary roles.

Experienced Leaders Join the Team

The announcement was made recently, highlighting the addition of Corriveau and Wells to the AARP leadership. Both individuals have impressive backgrounds that will contribute significantly to the organization’s mission. Corriveau, with his extensive experience in nonprofit work and health care advocacy, currently serves as the Director of Senior and Caregiver Services for First Contact. This organization provides critical services to around 300,000 seniors in the Tampa Bay area, including care coordination and crisis response.

Wells, on the other hand, has a robust background in housing services and affordable living initiatives. He is the Chief Impact Officer and President of the Bright Community Trust, an organization dedicated to developing affordable housing solutions across Florida. Bright Community Trust operates several offices throughout the state and focuses on creating homes for sale and rent while collaborating with various community organizations.

Looking Forward to New Perspectives

AARP Florida State Director Jeff Johnson expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments. “We are delighted to welcome Kip Corriveau and Frank Wells to our Executive Council. Their extensive experience and passion for community service align perfectly with our mission to enhance the quality of life for Floridians aged 50 and above,” said Johnson. He further noted that their insights and innovative ideas are expected to significantly bolster ongoing initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of seniors.

Advocating for Seniors Across Florida

AARP Florida plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights and well-being of residents aged 50 and older. The organization assists seniors with navigating a multitude of issues, including health care, financial management, caregiving, and employment. Notably, AARP stands as a powerful lobbying entity in Florida, where a substantial portion of the population is composed of senior citizens. The organization has a longstanding track record of influencing legislative decisions and policies that affect the elderly.

With Corriveau and Wells on board, AARP Florida aims to intensify its efforts in several key areas, including health advocacy, affordable housing, and community support services. Their combined skills and dedication to the welfare of seniors are expected to bring innovative solutions to the table, ensuring that the voices of older Floridians are heard and represented.

A Bright Future Ahead

As Florida continues to grow, the challenges faced by its senior population remain paramount. AARP Florida, with its new Executive Council members, is poised to tackle these issues head-on. The organization’s commitment to improving the quality of life for older residents is stronger than ever, promising a bright future for those they serve.
