Orlando is witnessing an exciting culinary expansion this September as several new food establishments are opening their doors to the public. From diverse fusion cuisines to traditional favorites, food enthusiasts have a variety of dining options to look forward to.

Among the new additions, Cowboy Curry, run by chef William Shen, is currently in its soft-opening phase. Located inside Mills Market, this restaurant has been building a loyal following through various pop-ups and trial runs before settling into its permanent space.

Another highly anticipated spot is Mazala Pijja, which opens on Thursday, September 18, at Laxmi Plaza on Doss Ave, near OBT. This restaurant offers a unique take on pizza by incorporating Indian ingredients such as tikka masala and palak paneer, appealing to those who enjoy fusion dishes.

In Sanford, the long-awaited Bawarchi Biryanis has now opened its doors in the former Indian Express location at 233 Bellagio Circle, just off St. Johns Parkway. Renowned for its flavorful biryani, this outpost is expected to attract both locals and visitors alike.

Also in Sanford, Bait & Hook specializes in sushi rolls and fresh fish sandwiches. This establishment has taken over the former Current Seafood space inside Henry’s Depot and is operated by chef Mike Evans, known for his work with the Yugiri Ramen Project. The new venue is poised to offer dine-in and takeout options for seafood lovers.

Looking ahead, Ferratti’s plans to introduce a menu rich in handmade pastas and Neapolitan desserts when it opens in the Marketplace at Avalon Park next month. The restaurant promises a unique experience for lovers of authentic Italian fare.

In December, Little Sister Dumpling will also be launching next to Tiger Sugar at 713 N. Mills Ave. Offering a variety of dumplings, this venue is sure to draw attention during the holiday season.

JAM Hot Chicken is set to transform the former Hunger Street Tacos stall at Plant Street Market in Winter Garden this fall, bringing another delectable option to the region.

Culinary events are also in the works, like the Oktoberfest celebration hosted by Daniel Gabor’s Alpine Bar & Grill on September 20 and 21, which will feature live music and German food specialties, enticing those looking for festivity and flavor.

An olive oil tasting event is scheduled for September 24, hosted by Sarah Santa of June Crush and The Dinner Party Project, at an undisclosed location. Tickets for this event are priced at $65, appealing to culinary enthusiasts looking to expand their palate.

On the same day, 4Roots Farm will host a Sourdough Bread & Craft Brews class focusing on fermentation and whole grains at 5:30 p.m. This educational experience promotes local agriculture and sustainable practices.

For those seeking an upscale dining experience, tickets are now available for Culinary Masters at Grande Lakes featuring a five-course dinner paired with fine wines, scheduled for October 23 at Knife & Spoon. This exclusive event is limited to just 100 guests and comes with a price tag of $395.

Later this year, Osteria Ester, an Italian-American restaurant from Good Salt Restaurant Group, is set to open in the former Soco space in Thornton Park, aiming to provide comfort-driven menu options centered around Italian-American classics and an impressive bread program.

As more culinary hotspots emerge in Orlando, food lovers have an array of new experiences to explore, blending tradition with innovation for an exciting dining scene contributing to the city’s gastronomic landscape.
