The workshops launch in July and will run through September 2024, coinciding with the Orlando Collected exhibit celebrating the city’s 150th anniversary.

Upcoming Workshop Schedule and Details
The first workshop, focused on “Genealogy,” is scheduled for July 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Experts from the Central Florida Genealogical Society will provide guidance to participants on how to conduct ancestral research, helping them uncover vital family connections. Attendees will also have access to a lightbox, enabling them to photograph family heirlooms and preserve those memories effectively.
The subsequent workshops include “Making a Time Capsule” on August 27, which will guide participants in creating personalized time capsules to preserve their family’s history for future generations. The final session, titled “Oral History,” will take place on September 17 and will focus on the art of oral storytelling, teaching attendees how to document and share their family narratives.
