A free monthly legal advice clinic specifically for veterans is being offered by Seminole County Legal Aid. This clinic addresses family law and housing law matters and runs from 1-4 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month through November. The location is at the Central Branch of Seminole County Public Library, located at 215 N. Oxford Road, Casselberry. Bingo Events Supporting Local Causes

Several engaging Bingo events have been organized to support local charities and veterans. The Winter Springs VFW Auxiliary hosts Bingo games every Tuesday, with doors opening at 10 a.m. and early bird games starting at 11 a.m. The event takes place at 420 N. Edgemon Ave., Winter Springs, and ticket prices range from $15 to $25. For ticket details, attendees can reach out at 407-327-3151.

Additionally, The Woman’s Club of Casselberry hosts Bingo events on the second and fourth Sundays each month at 2 p.m.. These sessions are held at 251 Overbrook Drive, Casselberry, with a low entry fee of $5 for ten games plus two optional bonus games. For more information, contact 407-947-2747.

Support Groups and Health Classes

A variety of support and health classes cater to different community needs. The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center offers a seminar on Dementia Caregiver Support Group each month at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday in Lake Mary. For men caring for Alzheimer’s patients, the Male Alzheimer’s Caregivers Group (Men’s Breakfast Club) meets at the same time at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Winter Springs.

Fitness enthusiasts can join Zumba classes at the Oviedo Gym & Aquatics Facility on Saturday mornings from 9:15-10:15 a.m.. The first class is complimentary, with subsequent classes costing $5. Those interested in Tai Chi and Qigong can attend sessions every Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at The University Club of Winter Park for $12 per class.

Grief Support and Softball Leagues

Adults coping with loss can find support through the GriefShare program held at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Furthermore, seniors looking to stay active can join the Leo Miller Senior Softball league, which includes players aged 60 and older, meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Seminole County Softball Complex. Another league is available for those aged 50 and older, meeting on Saturdays for games and batting practice.

Weekly Plant Clinics and Artistic Programs

Residents can also benefit from “Pop Up” Plant Clinics run by UF/IFAS Orange County Master Gardener Volunteers every few weeks, which provide assistance with plant care. The community will also enjoy Summer Family Tours, happening at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art on June 17 and June 24.

Community Celebrations

June is filled with cultural celebrations including the Philippine Independence Day Celebration on June 14 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Marks Street Sr. Recreation Complex, featuring various cultural activities for a $5 entry fee (free for children under 7). On the same day, residents can partake in the free Juneteenth Celebration at Hannibal Square from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., along with a Juneteenth Freedom Day Paint Party from 10 a.m.-noon, which requires prior reservations.

Looking ahead to July, the Central Florida Job Fair on July 9 will feature over 100 employers and is free to attend. A weekly program titled “Wade in the Water Wednesdays” is available for adults and seniors at the Eatonville Community Pool from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.. Furthermore, the American Cancer Society and the Monofilament Recovery and Recycling Program are seeking volunteers to assist with local wildlife initiatives.
