ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando City clinched an MLS playoff berth Saturday with a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution at Inter.co Stadium, locking up the No. 8 seed and a home wild-card game.
Braian Ojeda scored the only goal in the 45th minute. Antoine Griezmann sent a cross into the box that New England cleared, and the ball came to Ojeda just outside the area. He settled it and drove a shot past goalkeeper Matt Turner into the upper-right corner.
The Lions closed the regular season 13-14-7 with 46 points and ended a three-match stretch without a victory before 22,509 fans at home. Goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau posted his fifth blank sheet of the 2026 season, and Orlando kept a first shutout in eight matches. New England finished with 58 points.
The result extended Orlando’s postseason run to a seventh year in a row, the longest stretch still alive in Major League Soccer. The Lions will welcome No. 9 seed FC Cincinnati for a single-elimination wild-card night Thursday, Nov. 19, at their home stadium. Whoever advances then meets Nashville SC, the East’s top seed, in a three-game series.
Orlando held a 15-9 edge in shots even as the Revolution controlled 68 percent of the ball after the break. Defender Griffin Dorsey checked back in during the 82nd minute following a back injury that had sidelined him since early September. The club was without captain Robin Jansson and forward Tyrese Spicer, both with foot injuries, and defender Iago served a yellow-card suspension.
The finish was Ojeda’s second since joining the Lions and the sixth of his MLS career. Crepeau finished with two saves. Orlando went 10-4-2 at Inter.co Stadium during the regular season. Interim head coach Martin Perelman started David Brekalo and Eduard Atuesta after leaving them out of the previous lineup against Charlotte. Thursday’s wild-card match is set for 7:30 p.m. at Inter.co Stadium.
