ORLANDO, Fla. — Pizza Bruno will close its College Park restaurant on Saturday, Nov. 7, and a cheesesteak food truck with a loyal Orlando following is set to take over the Edgewater Drive storefront next month.
Owner Bruno Zacchini has run the College Park location for about three and a half years. He said he plans to put his energy back into the first Pizza Bruno on Curry Ford Road and has no plans to open another one. He pointed to personal reasons, the cost of a now-closed Pizza Bruno inside Maitland Social and climbing delivery fees as factors that cut into the shop’s profits.
The new tenant at 2429 Edgewater Drive will be Pacchioni’s Cheesesteaks & Pizza, the first sit-down home for a truck Daniel Pacchioni started in February 2025. Pacchioni, who once lived a couple of streets from the site, is joined by partners Yeosh Bendayan and Jon Ruhff. The plan calls for an early December opening, with design details and a firm date still to be announced.
Pizza will be new for the brand. Pacchioni has said it will blend several styles rather than copy the Jersey pies Pizza Bruno is known for. The cheesesteak lineup, built with chef Mike Collantes, mixes in Korean, Jamaican, French and Colombian flavors, and the shop will bake its own rolls.
Zacchini said he wanted the space to go to people who would bring something to the neighborhood. The truck will stay parked while the team gets the restaurant ready, though it is expected at a holiday market on Dec. 20 and will return to pop-ups in January.
