ORLANDO, Fla. — Drivers of electric cars in southwest Orlando have a new place to plug in, as Electrify America has opened the largest charging station in its network in the Sand Lake Corners South retail plaza.

The site packs 24 fast chargers, and each can deliver up to 350 kilowatts, though the real speed depends on the car, its battery temperature and how full the battery is. Every plug at this location uses the CCS standard. The company has been testing Tesla-style NACS plugs at some busy sites since July, but that pilot does not cover the Orlando station for now.

Location drove the choice. The plaza is a short drive from I-4, the city’s main airport and both the Disney and Universal resorts, so the hub can serve commuters, travelers heading to flights and tourists. Restaurants and stores at the center give drivers something to do while they wait.

The company says it already runs more than 350 chargers at over 60 sites across Florida, a state that trailed only California in registered electric vehicles in 2025. Another, smaller Orlando site, with 10 chargers, should follow in the next few months.

Anthony Lambkin, who leads operations for Electrify America, framed the opening as part of a push to give Florida drivers fast and dependable charging. By the end of 2025 its North American network had grown past 5,600 chargers, with drivers plugging in over 20 million times during the year. Earlier this year it opened a 20-bay site in Santa Barbara, Calif., that pairs 350-kilowatt units with a 1.9-megawatt battery storage system, but the new Orlando hub is now the biggest in its lineup by charger count.
