ORLANDO, Fla. — Electric vehicle drivers in southwest Orlando have a new place to plug in, as Electrify America has switched on 24 fast chargers in a southwest Orlando retail plaza, Sand Lake Corners South, its largest location anywhere so far.

The site sits on South John Young Parkway, and every one of its chargers is rated for as much as 350 kW. All 24 units use CCS connectors. The company is testing NACS plugs at a handful of other stations, including a separate Orlando location at the Florida Mall.

Location was a big part of the pitch. Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, the airport and I-4 are all a short drive away, and the operator is aiming the site at residents, road-trippers and tourists alike. Because it is inside a shopping center, drivers can eat or run errands while their cars charge.

Florida is one of the country’s biggest EV markets. About 450,400 battery electric vehicles were registered in the state in 2025, trailing only California, according to federal Energy Department data.

Electrify America now runs more than 350 chargers spread across over 60 stations statewide. It plans to open another Orlando site with 10 chargers on Curry Ford Road in the coming months, though no opening date has been set.

Anthony Lambkin, the company’s vice president of operations, said in the announcement that Florida’s EV community is growing quickly and the company plans to grow alongside it. The opening also comes as Electrify America tests new site models, including a white-label charging option it offers to retailers.
